TRU International Social Media Ambassador Award
The Social Media Ambassador Award recognizes international students who demonstrate leadership, creativity, engagement, and a commitment to sharing their authentic TRU experience with future students and families around the world. Selected ambassadors help showcase student life at TRU through digital storytelling, community engagement, and participation in university events while developing valuable communication and content creation skills.

Each semester, the International Marketing department selects Social Media Ambassadors who:
- are enthusiastic, creative, and relate well to students from around the world
- demonstrate pride in the TRU student experience
- have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- have been involved in student-related activities at TRU
How do Social Media Ambassadors contribute?
- Share their personal student experiences through digital storytelling.
- Participate in university and student life events such as Orientation, International Days, Back to School BBQs, and WolfPack games.
- Contribute content ideas and student perspectives.
- Help prospective students learn about studying at TRU.
- Support a welcoming international student community.

- Fill out the SMA Application Form.
- Create a multimedia piece outlined in the application.

What is the Application Process
Social Media Ambassadors are selected each semester to represent and share their experiences as international students at TRU.
- Online application opens 2 months prior to each term.
- We will review applications the following day of the deadline.
- Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an individual selection conversation.
- Selection decisions will be communicated in the week following the selection conversations.
What are the qualifications?
The International Marketing department aims to build a team of Ambassadors that are passionate about TRU.
Education requirements:
- Must be a full-time student (minimum 9 credits) for the semester selected as an Ambassador
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
Other requirements:
- Able to actively participate throughout the semester and contribute regularly to ambassador activities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven leadership ability
- A passion for sharing their TRU experience
