Priority Course Registration

TRU's priority course registration system maintains the concept of open access, encourages student retention and supports the transition of newly admitted students.

To see your priority registration date and time go to myTRU and select on-campus course registration.

Registration for fall and winter semesters opens in June each year. Students will have access to registration in the following order:

Learn how to register for campus courses here.

  1. Continuing undergraduate students in open programs with 84 credits or more
Continuing undergraduate students with 84 credits or more (including continuing post-baccalaureate students) are assigned registration dates in descending (highest to lowest) order first by student's cumulative credits completed, then by cumulative GPA.
  2. New undergraduate students
New undergraduate students are defined as students with no institutional credit except for students who have earned credit through TRU Start programs, and students entering post-baccalaureate programs. New students are assigned registration dates in order of application date.
  3. Students in graduate, professional or limited enrolment programs
For students in graduate, professional or limited enrolment programs registration begins for continuing students first. Students are assigned registration dates in descending (highest to lowest) order first by student's cumulative credits completed, then by cumulative GPA. New students register after continuing students.
  4. Continuing undergraduate students in open programs with less than 84 credits
Continuing undergraduate students with less than 84 credits are assigned registration dates in descending (highest to lowest) order first by student's cumulative credits completed, then by cumulative GPA.
  5. Continuing university preparatory and EAP program students
Continuing university preparatory and EAP program students are assigned registration dates in descending (highest to lowest) order first by student's cumulative credits completed, then by cumulative GPA.
  6. New university preparatory and EAP program students
New university preparatory and EAP program students are assigned registration dates in order of application date.
  7. Late applicants and visiting students
Applicants who apply and are accepted after registration dates have been assigned and visiting students are assigned registration dates in order of application date.

After all students have had access to register in the priority registration period, registration will remain open to all eligible students until the registration deadline before the start of each term.

Students are encouraged to register as soon as possible for the best selection of courses with limited capacity.
