Student housing acceptance

Housing notices

Applications for North Tower, Coyote Den and East Village for summer 2026 and the 2026/27 academic year will open no later than Tuesday, February 17 at 12 p.m.

Registering to apply

The first step to confirming your room in Student Housing is to register.

When you register, we will ask for some basic information so we can contact you throughout the acceptance process. Once registered, you will be able to create an application for the term you wish to apply for.

Start by clicking Apply Now for the residence of your choice.

Creating an Application

Once you have registered, the second step is to create an application.

We have three application terms:

  • Academic Year (September - April)
  • Winter Semester (January - April)
  • Summer Semester (May - August)

Once you have selected a term you will be required to fill in some personal information that we need for the application process.

Paying your application fee

As a final step to creating your application, you will need to pay your application fee.

This $100 fee validates your application. Please note this payment is non-refundable. Below are the payment options:

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Certified cheque (by courier)*
  • Bank draft (by courier)*
  • Money order (by courier)*
  • Cash (in person)
  • Interac (in person)
  • Online payment (online)
  • Payee account (online)***
  • Credit card through North Star

Credit card payments are only accepted through North Star Currency payment method.

For payment information please refer to the following pages and look for the Payment Tab: North Tower, East Village or Coyote Den

Completing your acceptance

Once you have received our acceptance email informing you that you have been given a room, we will need a little more information from you to serve you better and we will also need you to sign the Student Residence Agreement.

To do this, simply log back on to the Housing Portal using your username (email) and password to continue the acceptance process. You will now be able to proceed to the steps where you were not able to before.

Because you now know the room type you have been accepted into, you will be able to prepare to make your payment. Please see the Rates page (North Tower, East Village or Coyote Den) for your associated fees.

Making payment

Once you have completed your online paperwork we will have all the necessary information to send you an email outlining your associated fees.

This email will give you a line-by-line breakdown of the charges that will be placed on your account. We will place these charges on your account in August to account for any fluctuations that may occur.

Your first payment for the academic year is due on June 1. If you are accepted after June 1, it is due as soon as possible to confirm your room. Your space in Student Housing is not guaranteed until we receive the first payment.

Roommate matching

In late July, you will have the ability to search and request your own roommate. Having the right roommate(s) is an important part of what makes your experience successful and memorable.

Be you, not who you want to be

In late July, you will have the ability to search and request your own roommate. Having the right roommate(s) is an important part of what makes your experience successful and memorable. This is your space to show who you truly are right now — your habits, preferences, and everyday routines. By sharing honest details about how you live and study, it increases the chances of finding a good match. The more real you are, the better your experience will be.

Don't stop at your first match

If you've found what you think is a good match, keep searching. Not only does this open the door to find someone you might connect with a little better, but at the very least you will have an opportunity to meet more people who you will be living with during the year.

Chat on Facebook or other avenues

While you have the ability to message on our portal, sometimes taking the conversation to a social media outlet such as Facebook provides an easier avenue and also makes things more personal.
